You Want to Learn About Physical Therapy & How It Can Help
Physical therapists seek to restore function, whether it is an adult to return to work, an athlete to return to his or her sport, or a senior adult to be able perform gardening for example. In outpatient therapy, our goal is to get to the source of the problem, attempt to solve the problem and get the patient independent in his or her home exercise program to prevent the injury from occurring again. We also restore, maintain, and promote overall fitness and health. PT’s examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, PT’s work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.
The following list contains some of the most common reasons to see a physical therapist and those conditions treated at AthletePlus.
Physical therapists are experts in how the body functions and moves and are very cost effective. Early physical therapy intervention prevents more costly treatment later, can result in a faster recovery, and reduces costs associated with lost time from work. Patients pay less when they have direct access to physical therapy services without a doctor referral. However, there can be a temptation under managed care to terminate services prematurely. A study conducted to determine whetherdirect access to physical therapy services was cost-effective found that patients who went directly to a physical therapist had fewer episodes of care, and services were ultimately less costly.
You are in Pain & Want Your Life Back & May or May Not Have Seen Your Doctor Already
AthletePlus can help you. We can see you before you have seen a doctor. It is called Direct Access. Currently, all 50 states and the District of Columbia (DC) allow patients to be evaluated by a physical therapist without a physician’s prior referral. We recommend you see your doctor first and we may refer you to a doctor if needed, but we can get you started on your path to a successful return to your life. Delays in care result in higher costs, decreased functional outcomes, and frustration to patients seeking physical therapy treatment. Eliminating arbitrary barriers results in timely, more effective care. For example, a 2012 study in Spine states if you hurt your back, starting PT within the first 14 days can save you on average over $2700. Call 751-8437 Now.
Your Doctor Said You Need Physical Therapy & Gave You a Referral Script
Come See Us!! We know you might be hesitant to try therapy or you may be the type that puts off getting treatment for that nagging low back pain. It is much easier to get you better and usually less expensive the earlier you come see us. Waiting til you have chronic pain is not a good idea. You have the right to choose any therapy clinic, even if you choose not to go to the therapist at your physician’s office. Doctors can not force you to attend therapy at their own physical therapy clinic or any clinic for that matter. Just ask your doctor for a referral to the clinic of your choosing.
Common reasons to avoid going to physical therapy.
The past couple of months I had been feeling a lot of pain in my rib area. When I started coming here, my pain almost went away with only two sessions. My experience here has been wonderful! The people working here are so nice and I cannot thank y’all enough.
I am very pleased with my treatment here. Chris, Chad and Buena were very professional and knowledgeable about my injuries and were able to guide me through a process to help my recovery once I have surgery.
It was a good experience and it really help me during the exercises. I was treated and helpful and I will come back.

It was amazing that I walked in with such pain and weakness that I thought I was going to be on disability and the next step was a wheelchair. After 18 weeks of work with the trainers, I feel that I have a new expectation that I can do anything.
i have improveed a lot. All the exercises ans therapy did a lot of good. Every one here were so helpful and explained everything very well. Rate it 10/10.
Excellent. I’ve been to three other physical therapy facilities over the years, this is by far the best in terms of the specialized equipment and level of custom and personal care. The results I’ve had have far surpassed what I achieved at the other physical therapy facilities. I would highly recommend to anyone! All of you have been wonderful, and I am grateful for the improvement I’ve shown! Office experience has improved dramatically since Alicia joined AtheletePlus. Give everyone bonuses! 🙂
Overall a very positive experience. The staff has been very professional and have provided me with not just therapy, but a method to continue my work outside the center. All the exercises provided have been such that they can be integrated into my normal workout routine. This should allow me to work on any problems on my own in the future. I have been very pleased with the progress I made and with the program.
